Shelly Buckingham, M.Ed., C.Psych.
Psychologist
Shelly Buckingham is an experienced Psychologist who is registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario. Shelly has over twenty years of experience working with children, adolescents and their parents on a wide range of concerns. These include difficulties with mood, anxiety, attention, behaviour, relationships and school-based concerns.
Shelly started out in a community mental health setting and worked for the Durham District School Board for 10 years prior to entering into private practice work. She is experienced in providing psychological assessments as well as individual counselling with children and adolescents. She uses an integrative approach to her treatment, customizing interventions to the individual. Shelly draws from a variety of modalities including Mindfulness therapies, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotion Focussed Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.
Shelly has also served as an Adjunct Clinical Supervisor for the School and Clinical Child Psychology Program at OISE/UT.
Shelly works with adult individuals, with concerns such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, and stress management. She is a doctoral candidate, pursuing her Ed.D. in adult counselling psychology at OISE, University of Toronto and is supervised by Dr. Cheryl Noble.
